It Was Over When....

Deuce Mcallister ran for a Saint's first down on 3rd and 1 from their own 31 yard line with 1:37 remaining in the 4th quarter. After that the Eagles could no longer stop the clock, so the Saints ran it out.

The Game Ball Goes To....

Deuce Mcallister with 21 rushes for 143 yards and 1 spectacular touchdown. He also had 4 catches for 20 yards and another touchdown. Ever since Reggie Bush joined the Saints Mcallister has become the forgotten man on their offense but the Eagles will remember him now for a long time.

The Stat Of The Game Is....

208 as in 208 yards rushing for the Saints on the night. Ever since the Eagles went on the winning streak that got them here it's their running game and run defense which have propelled them. However, neither of those were on display tonight. The Eagles couldn't stop the Saints running back and aside from a few spectacular runs by Brian Westbrook they couldn't consistently get their own running attack going.

The Bottom Line Is....

This game was right there for the taking for the Eagles and they just didn't take it, and basically they let the Saints escape with the win. So what does that mean? Well, the season's over, there is no use crying over missed opportunities and it's time to move on and wait until next season.

It Was Over When....

After coughing up the lead the Bobcats retook it with just 2:21 to play in the 4th quarter. From There on out it was just about all Bobcats as they scored the next 5 points in a row and never looked back.

Raymond Felton with 14 points and 9 assists, Emeka Okafor with 10 points and 9 rebounds, Sean May with 13 points and 10 rebounds off the bench, and Adam Morrison with 17 points off the bench.

The Stat Of The Game Is....

Like last night, 44.4 as in a 44.4 3 point shooting percentage for the Bobcats on the night to just a 28.6 3 point shooting percentage for the Sixers on the night. Frankly, neither team played all that well tonight and even though the Bobcats hit 6 more threes than the Sixers did on the night they still needed a late burst to hold off the Sixers. Still, if they hadn't hit those threes in the first place they never would have won.

The Bottom Line Is....

This was a very poorly played game by both teams and the fact that the Sixers lost it does not bode well for them.

It Was Over When....

The Penguins' Evgeni Malkin scored on the Flyers empty net with under 1:00 minute to play in the 3rd period.

Evgeni Malkin with 2 goals and an assist, Michel Ouellet with 3 assists, and Jordan Staal with a goal and an assist.

The Stat Of The Game Is....

39 shots on goal and 5 goals for the Penguins on the day, to just 18 and 3 respectively for the Flyers. As bad as the Flyers have been against the Penguins this season, they actually weren't all that bad today, but the fact is they just didn't have enough fire power to take out the Penguins.

The Bottom Line Is....

The Penguins are now 6-0 against the Flyers this season and I truly don't see the Flyers beating the Penguins anytime soon.

Sixers 110 Bucks 97

It Was Over When....

The Bucks closed to within 2 points with about 8:00 minutes to play in the 4th quarter, but could not take the lead away from the Sixers. Basically, from that point on it was all Sixers as they scored the next 6 points in a row en route to the 13 point win.

The Game Ball Goes To....

Willie Green who scored a game high 30 points, Andre Iguodala with 26 points, 6 assists, and 6 rebounds, Samuel Dalembert with 16 points and 8 rebounds, Andre Miller with 11 points and 11 assists, and of course Kyle Korver with 17 points off the bench.

The Stat Of The Game Is....

46.7 as in, a 46.7 3 point shooting percentage on the night for the Sixers to just a 25 3 point shooting percentage for the Bucks on the night. The Sixers had 3 more threes than the Bucks on the night and used them in key situations to get in position for and pull away for the win.

The Bottom Line Is....

After 4 straight losses this was a win the Sixers needed to have, plus it's their 10th win of the season, and it only took them 36 games to get it (they're currently 10-26). Still, 10 wins is a positive accomplishment for this team, and here's hoping they can at least get to 20 before the season's over.

Montreal's Michael Ryder scored about 7 minutes into the 3rd period to put the Canadiens up for good 4-2.

The Stat Of The Game Is....

3, as in 3 periods or a full game played by Flyer's superstar Peter Forsberg on the night. Yeah that's right Forsberg finally returned to the lineup tonight, somehow managed to not get injured again and yet the Flyers still lost. Thus I think it's safe to say that they've hit rock bottom.

The Bottom Line Is....

Like I said above the Flyers have officially hit rock bottom with this their 5th straight loss, hopefully since their is now nowhere for them to go but up that's where they'll go.

It Was Over When....

The 1st period ended. The Sixers never led during this game but they kept it close until there were about 2:00 minutes left to play in the 1st period. At that point Kyke Korver had just hit a jumper to cut the lead to 26-21, only to be outdone by Stephen Marbury who hit a three pointer to put the Knicks up 29-21. Surprisingly, from this point on the Sixers would not get back to within 8 points of the lead until the very end of the game.

The Game Ball Goes To....

Stephen Marbury with 24 points and 6 assists, Jamal Crawford with 12 points and 6 assists, Channing Frye with 17 points and 8 rebounds, Eddy Curry with 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Quentin Richardson with 19 points off the bench.

The Stat Of The Game Is....

53.1 as in a 53.1 shooting percentage for the Knicks on the night to just a 44.3 shooting percentage for the Sixers on the night. Like last night the Sixers did not shoot well enough and allowed the Knicks to shoot too high a percentage, and thus never had any real chance to win.

The Bottom Line Is....

This is 4 straight losses now for the Sixers and sadly there doesn't appear to be an end in sight to their losing streak anytime soon. Also this game wasn't their only loss on the day, as the Sixers front office bought out the contract of star forward Chris Webber earlier today, effectively making him a free agent. So both Iverson and Webber have left the Sixers and things don't figure to get better for them until next season.

It Was Over When....

The 3rd quarter ended. It was a close game for a half, but the Pistons put up 33 points in the 3rd quarter to put the Sixers away for good, and take a 16 point lead into the 4th quarter.

Ronald Murray with 12 points and 12 assists, Rip Hamilton with 22 points and 7 assists and Tayshaun Prince with a game high 33 points.

The Stat Of The Game Is....

56.3 as in a 56.3 shooting percentage for the Pistons on the night, to just a 45.8 shooting percentage for the Sixers on the night. Usually the team that shoots better is the team that wins and that's what happened tonight.

The Bottom Line Is....

Like the Flyers, this is the 4th straight loss for the Sixers, fortunately the Sixers will be playing the equally woeful Knicks tomorrow night, so there is a good chance that they will be able to end this losing streak soon.

Just about as soon as it started. Flyers goalie Robert Esche just had a terrible night, allowing 5 goals before the Flyers could even get their 1st goal of the night early in the 3rd period.

4, as in 4 consecutive losses now for the Flyers. Remember that record 10 game losing streak the Flyers suffered through earlier this season, well they may be on their way to breaking it.

Eagles 23 Giants 20

It Was Over When....

David Akers nailed a 38 yard field goal as time expired, following a 4:00 plus minute drive.

The Game Ball Goes To....

Brian Westbrook who on 20 carries rushed for 141 yards and 1 Eagles playoff record 49 yard TD which gave the Eagles their first score of the game. Later Westbrook also helped the Eagles run out clock and take the ball all the way to about the Giants 20 yard line, setting up Akers game winning field goal.

The Stat Of The Game Is....

1 as in 1 turnover on the day for the Giants to 0 for the Eagles. In the end after all the ebbs and flows between the two it was the one interception thrown by Eli Manning back in the 2nd quarter that proved to be difference. Without the that interception and the Eagles field goal which resulted from it Akers game winning field goal would have been little more than a game-tying field goal. Thus, it just goes to show that every mistake you make in the playoffs is magnified to a higher extent than an equivalent mistake would be in the regular season.

The Bottom Line Is....

Hey, it's the playoffs and Eagles won and will live to play another today. So we'll just have to see how much farther they can go.

It Was Over When....

Almost as soon as it started. The Senators scored 2 goals right off the bat in the 1st period. Then in the 2nd period after the Flyers had scored their first goal in spectacular fashion, the Senators reeled off 3 more goals to rapidly put the game out of reach at 5-1.

The Game Puck Goes To....

Daniel Alfredsson with a goal and 2 assists, Danny Heatley with 2 goals and an assist, Chris Kelly with a goal and an assist, and Wade Redden and Anton Volchenkov with 2 assists each.

The Stat Of The Game Is....

43 as in 43 shots on goal for the Senators on the night and 6 as in 6 goals for the Senators on the night, to only 21 and 1 respectively for the Flyers. Obviously, if you allow the numbers to be that lopsided in your opponent's favor you are not going to win.

The Bottom Line Is....

After a recent 3 game winning streak, this loss marks the Flyer's 3rd straight loss and 13th in a row during a game in which Peter Forsberg did not participate in at least one period of play. Basically, just to sum it all up, the Flyers are going nowhere this season, any questions?
