Bruins 4 Flyers 3
It Was Over When....
The Bruins Marc Savard scored to open the 3rd period, putting the Bruins up for good 4-2. It had been 3-2 going into 3rd period and it looked as if the Flyers would be able to tie the game and force overtime, but Savard's goal erased all hope for the Flyers as they failed to add a third goal to their tally until there were less than 2 minutes to play.
The Game Puck Goes To....
Marc Savard who had a hand in all 4 Bruins goals on the night. He scored their 1st and last goals, and assisted on their 2nd and 3rd goals.
The Stat Of The Game Is....
2, as in 2 power play goals on the night for the Bruins to 0 for the Flyers. Often in the NHL the difference between winning and losing is whether or not you can take advantage of your power play opportunities, and it was again tonight.
The Bottom Line Is....
This was a tough loss for the Flyers but sadly it's just another one among many this season for the Orange and Black, who at the half way mark of the season are just 11-26-4 for an NHL low 26 points. So let's just say things are not looking so good for The Flyers right now, as if they ever really did.
