Roy Halladay allowed just 1 run 6 hits in 8 innings while striking out 7 but it wasn't enough as Chris Carpenter tossed a 3 hit shutout and the Cardinals ended the Phils season with a 1-0 game 5 win. To make matters worse Ryan Howard may have torn his achilles while making the final out of the game on a hard ground ball past first. Better luck next year boys.

PHILLIES NEWS

The Phils jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in game 4, thanks to a leadoff ground rule double by Jimmy Rollins, a triple by Chase Utley, and a single by Hunter Pence. Unfortunately, like Cliff Lee in game 2, Roy Oswalt couldn't hold the lead, allowing 5 runs on 6 hits in a tough 5-3 loss to the Cardinals. That means Chris Carpenter and Roy Halladay will square off at the Bank in a decisive game 5.

EAGLES NEWS

510 yards of offense, including over 400 passing yards and 2 TDs from Mike Vick, and over 100 yards from Desean Jackson, helped the Eagles build a 20 point 3rd quarter lead. Then Alex Henery missed 2 field goals and the Eagle's defense collapsed as they tried to close it out, eventually costing the Birds their 3rd straight loss, a 24-23 heartbreaker to the 49ers.
