PHILLIES NEWS
Phillies returned to the mound tonight and looked very good allowing just 1 run on 2 hits while striking out 7 in 6 innings. Meanwhile, Shane Victorino slammed his 15th homer of the season and the Phils bullpen backed up Hamels effectively as the Phils held off the Reds tonight 3-2.
EAGLES NEWS
It was an important day today for the Birds as they signed Mike Vick to a 6 year $100 million extension, with only $40 million guaranteed. Hopefully he stays healthy for the full 6 years, but since it is only $40 million guaranteed he doesn't have to. The other news for the Birds today was that rookie Jason Kelce was named the starter at center. Given how much he struggled as the starter in the Eagles last preseason game this is a bit of a surprise and you just have to hope the kid can clean up things he did wrong before the start of the season.
