The weekend went to Irene as the Phils and Marlins were washed out today. With there last 2 games with the Fish already canceled, the Phils 33 games to play in 30 days to finish the season. Thanks again Irene.

Roy Oswalt was roughed up for 6 runs on 12 hits and the Phils comeback bid, keyed by a 3 run blast by Ryan Howard, came up just short in a 6-5 loss to the Marlins. When the Phils next game will be is anybody's guess.

Mike Vick and Ronnie Brown each ran for touchdowns and the Eagles' defense blanked Cleveland in the first half, forcing two turnovers, as they improved to 2-1 in the preseason, with a 24-14 win over the Browns.

Kyle Kendrick was roughed up for 6 runs on 7 hits in just 4 innings. The Phils attempted a comeback bid, twice putting the tying run on base in the final innings, but they couldn't quite pull it off and lost to the Mets 7-4. Despite the loss they remain 6.5 games up in the NL East.

Vance Worley was lights out, allowing just 1 run on 5 hits while striking out 9 in 7 innings. Meanwhile, John Mayberry Jr. and Shane Victorino both homered and Victorino added a triple as the pounded the Mets again 9-4.

Cliff Lee tossed 7 scoreless innings, Hunter Pence and John Mayberry Jr. each slammed 2 run homers, Shane Victorino lined a 2 run triple, and Carlos Ruiz ripped a 2 run single as the Phils hammered the Mets 10-0 for their league best 14th shutout of the season. David Herndon rolled through the final scoreless innings for his 2nd successive scoreless outing,

Carlos Ruiz and Chase Utley both homered but once again the Phils bullpen couldn't close it out as the Phils fell to the Nationals 5-4 in 10 innings. Better luck next time I guess.
