PHILLIES NEWS
Tonight's game with the Braves was postponed due to the imminent threat of Ernesto, and so far there is no word on when and if it will be made up. In other news the Phillies acquired 1st baseman Randall Simon from the Rangers for cash. Simon, hasn't appeared in a major league game since September of 2004, but so far this year he has been hitting consistently during stints in both the Mexican league and the Rangers AAA affiliate. Obviously, the Phillies hope that Randall can continue that and add more hitting to their blench and he probably can, but only during the remainder of the regular season, as he is not eligible to be a part of the Phils playoff roster, should they get to the playoffs.
