PHILLIES NEWS

Tough night tonight for the Phils. J.D Durbin got the start and he and the phils were both given a dose of reality after 6 straight victories. Durbin was rocked for 7 runs on 5 hits in the first inning, while failing to record an out. Before the Phils, even knew what hit them they were behind 7-0. Although Clay Condrey came into retire the side and kept the Marlins off the board for the next two innings, it was too late. A solo homer by Jimmy Rollins in the first inning, and Another solo homer by Aaron Rowand, and consecutive singles by Chris Coste and Rollins, in the 2nd inning, briefly got the Phils back in it at 7-4. Then Florida added 2 in the 5th, for a 9-4 lead. The Phils answered with 2 in the 8th, on a fielder's choice, and a single by Rollins, to cut the lead to 9-6. Then in the 8th Florida tacked on 3 more, as Cody Ross crushed a two run homer, and that 12-6 lead was at last too much for the Phils to overcome, as they went down in order in the 9th. So ,the Phils drop to 72-63, now 3 games behind the Mets in the NL East, and still 3 behind in the wildcard. Thus, life sucks again.
