FLYERS NEWS
Well it finally happened, the Flyer's winning streak has come to an end at 5 games. Goals from Joffrey Lupul, Lasse Kukonen, and Jeff Carter, and 38 saves from Marty Biron were not enough tonight against the Florida Panthers, who just have the Flyers number right now, with this there 5th consecutive win over the Flyers(Florida won all 4 of their meetings with the Flyers last season). Florida's Olli Jokinen scored twice in the 1st period to put the Panthers up early 2-0. Lupul and Carter scored early in the 2nd period to knot it up at 2. Later in the period Florida's Gregory Campbell poked one by Biron to put the Panthers up 3-2. Then Campbell scored again midway through the 3rd period to put Florida up 4-2. Kukonen scored with about 3 minutes to play to cut it to 4-3, but the Flyers could not sneak another one past Panther's goalie Tomas Vokoun, and fell 4-3. Yeah, so the Flyers lost, but who cares, they're still 6-2 and on top of the Atlantic division, so what's not to like. I mean, all winning streaks have to come to an end some time right?
