The Phils continued their 3 game set with the Braves tonight, in the 2nd of the set. Adam Eaton got the start tonight, and produced another solid performance, allowing just 2 runs on 5 hits in 5 innings of work. Meanwhile, the Phils' bats continued on the mend racking up 7 runs on 13 hits. Now onto the game. In the top of the 2nd, Chris Coste slapped an RBI double for a 1-0 Phils' lead. In the top of the 3rd, Ryan Howard slammed a 3 run homer for a 4-0 lead. In the top of the 5th, Pat "the Bat" Burrell slugged a solo homer for 5-0 lead. In the bottom of the 5th, Ruben Gotay lined a solo homer to cut the lead to 5-1. In the bottom of the 6th, Mark Texeira doubled and scored on a fielder's choice to cut the lead to 5-2. In the bottom of the 8th, Chipper Jones crushed a solo homer to cut the lead to 5-3. However, the Phils again closed the door in the top of the 9th, as Jimmy Rollins tripled in a run and scored on single by Chase Utley for a 7-3 lead. Still Texeira had chance to be a hero with the bases loaded in the 9th, and two out, but Brad Lidge struck him out to end it in a 7-3 Phils win. So the Phils improve to 46-39 overall and remain 1.5 games up in the NL East.

Its good to see the Phils continuously defeat the Braves because I remeber just a few years ago the Braves always beat the Phils. The tables have turned and I like it
