The Phils continued their series with the Brewers this afternoon. Cole Hamels got the start and tossed a solid 6 innings, allowing just 2 runs on 6 hits. Meanwhile the Phil's bats jumped out early with 5 runs in the first 2 innings. Now onto the game. In the bottom of the 1st, Chase Utley doubled in one run, Jayson Werth slapped an RBI single, and the "Flyin Hawaiian" Shane Victorino singled in a 3rd run for a 3-0 lead. In the bottom of the 2nd, Ryan Howard slapped a 2 run single for a 5-0 lead. In the top of the 4th, Jason Kendall slapped a 2 run double to cut the lead to 5-2. In the bottom of the 6th, Jimmy Rollins slammed a 2 run homer for a 7-2 lead. In the top of the 8th, Ryan Braun slugged a solo shot to cut the lead to 7-3. Finally in the top of 9th, Brad Lidge closed it out relatively uneventfully for his 36th consecutive save as a Phil. So the Phils move to 81-67 overall, now 2 games behind the Brewers in the wild card, and 2.5 games behind the Mets in the NL East(the Mets were also rained out yesterday and played their doubleheader today, splitting 2 games with the Braves).

All the Phils have to do now is finish off the Brewers today and they'll be tied for the wildcard lead, and hopefully, be closer to the Mets in the NL east
