FLYERS NEWS
The Flyers extended their winning streak against the Altanta Thrashers to 12 in a row tonight, as Antero Niittymaki improved to a perfect 11-0 vs the Thrashers. The win was largely due to Niittymaki's 29 saves out of 32 shots and some timely Flyers goals. Early in first period Simon Gagne scored a dazzling breakaway goal for a 1-0 lead. Late in the period Mike Knuble scored to make it 2-0. Early in the 2nd period Erik Christensen scored to cut it to 2-1. Kimmo Timmonen answered later in the period for a 3-1 lead. Early in the 3rd period Bryan Little scored to cut it 3-2. Midway through the 3rd Slava Kozlov tied it up at 3. Fortunately, just when it seemed to be slipping away, Joffrey Lupul answered a minute later to put the Flyers up for good 4-3. So the Orange and Black improve to 7-6-4 overall, putting them above .500 for the first time all season, for a total of 18 points.

.500 always test better than below .500. Also the Flyers should always play the Predators when they have Nittimaky? on their side
