My cousins from Australia told that the whole country is gaga over the success of their punters playing in the NFC Championship Final. It’s amazing to see the type of impact that both Sav Rocca and Ben Graham has down under. After all there is nothing much that we can talk about that position unlike your average quarterback or running back or wide receiver.

Guess who I’m going to throw my support to? Yes! The Philadelphia Eagles because I’ve seen some videos of Rocca and I’m very impress. Hopefully this will open the door for more players from other nationalities (or abroad) to come and join the NFL.

I’m sure many players with professional soccer background can take up the place kicker’s position for any team in the NFL. Furthermore the average soccer player tends to retire around the age 33-35 years old. But most place kickers in the NFL do play right into their 40s.

cool man, I like Sav too, he's awesome. I have never seen anyone hit punts 50 yards more often than he does. It is interesting that he and Graham have such an impact down under since the punter really is an after thought in this country. You're probably right this could open the door for players from other nationalities because any soccer player could probably be at least place kicker or a punter. The problem is that these days there are a lot of young kids out there in this country getting specialized training to be placekickers or even punters. They become interested in kicking a soccer, maybe even star as soccer players and then decide at a young age to crossover to football since it is obviously the more lucrative option in this country. By the time they are in college and beyond they have been place kicking or punting and recieving training for years and years. So NFL coaches tend to trust those guys more then ex-international soccer players who have never touched a football before. Perhaps the success of your punters will inspire more kids internationally to take up kicking footballs at early age rather than late in life. Then maybe some new doors will be opened.
