FLYERS NEWS

After a solid win over the Lightning last night the Flyers traveled up to St.Louis for a matchup with the Blues. Thanks to the long flight and the 2nd game in as many nights the Flyers were simply out of gas in this one as the Flyers failed to score a single goal against Blues goalie Chris Mason. Meanwhile Antero Niittymaki strangely got the start again in goal and he too appeared a bit out of gas allowing 4 goals. Early in the first period Jay Mclement scored for a 1-0 lead. Early in the 2nd period Carlo Colaiacovo scored for a 2-0 lead. A few minutes later David Backles scored a power play goal for a 3-0 lead. Late in the period Patrik Berglund scored another power play goal to put away the 4-0 Blues win for good. So the Orange and Black drop to 26-14-9 overall and 6th in the Eastern conference.

Its kinda funny to see that the FLyers are in 6th in the Eastern Conference and the Sixers are in 7th and their records are so different. I guess thats the way the world goes sometimes.

yeah well the NHL is obviously a much stronger league in the East than the NBA, The Eastern conference in the NBA just never has more than a few good teams at one time and it has almost always been that way
