FLYERS NEWS

The Flyers welcomed the L.A Kings to the Wachovia center tonight as they looked to win their 2nd game in two nights. Apparently Antero Niittymaki's sterling performance last night, gave Marty Biron quite the kick in the butt. So much so that he felt he had to one up Niittymaki tonight and did he ever, saving all 34 shots he faced for his 25th career shutout. Meanwhile, Jeff Carter posted a goal and an assist to lead the Flyers to an easy win. Late in the 2nd period Carter scored for a 1-0 lead. Then with seconds to play in the 3rd period Carter assisted Simon Gagne on an empty netter to close out a 2-0 win. So the Orange and Black move to 33-17-9 overall for 75 points and still 4th in the Eastern conference, now just 4 points out of 1st in the Atlantic division and 3rd in the Eastern conference.
