FLYERS NEWS

The Flyers welcomed the New York stinkin Rangers to the Wachovia center tonight for a key matchup. Marty Biron again got the start in goal and seemed to put a stranglehold on the position for now with 39 saves out of the 41 Shots he faced. Meanwhile, Aaron Asham scored twice to push the Flyers to a win. Early in the first period Nik Antropov scored for a 1-0 Ranger lead. Late in the period Scott Hartnell knotted it up at 1. Early in the 2nd period Mike Richards scored for a 2-1 lead. Eary in the 3rd period Asham scored his first for a 3-1 lead. Late in the period Asham scored his second for a 4-1 lead. Finally with just under 4 minutes to play Sean Avery scored a meaningless goal to cut the lead to the eventual final score 4-2. So the Orange and Black improve to 37-20-10 overall for 84 points and still 4th in the Eastern conference.

With all these wins I think the Flyers might be able to pull ahead of the Devils. All they have to do is keep playing like they did last night.

I am not sure about that, because even with all those wins they're still 9 points behind the Devils. With Brodeur at the top of his game it's hard to see them going on a losing streak any time soon
