The Sixers traveled to Miami tonight for a matchup with Dwayne Wade and Miami Heat, as they looked to snap a 3 game losing streak. Coming off a close call against the Cleveland Cavaliers in their last game you would think maybe the Sixers would be extra motivated in this one, but they weren't really. Their defense wasn't very good again, although they did outrebound Miami 46-44, they didn't really get too many stops. Likewise on the other side of the floor they shot just 37% from the field. So on the whole it was another lackluster Sixer's performance. The one bright spot was from beyond the arc, where they shot 45% with 11 threes and that alone kept them in game. In fact Jason Kapono, yes Kapono, actually 3 treys and score 17 on the night, by far his best performance of the season. Jrue Holiday was even more impressive, going 4 for 5 from beyond for all 12 of his points. Thanks to all those threes the Sixers were actually within 5 heading into the 4th quarter.
After falling behind by 16 by the halfway point of the 4th, they were able the three to pull back within 6 with 3 minutes to play. Kapono then missed a three, and Miami put togther back to back baskets, including a 3 point play by Wade to push the lead back 11 and that was about all she wrote. Sixers never got any closer, as Miami eventually hung on to win by 13, 104-91. Ultimately, Wade who poured in 38, proved too much for the Sixers to handle, and frankly the Sixers just aren't a good enough 3 point shooting team to rely on it like they did tonight. The fact that they did rely on it so much, makes you wonder whether they're hearts were really in it tonight. Anyway with the loss the Sixers drop to 23-43 overall, now 12th in the East, 9.5 games out of 8th. So it sure seems like they have given up on this season and I don't blame them if they have.

Its time to drop some games but they would probably win those games on accident.
