After much consternation Davey Lopes has decided not to return as the Phils first base coach next season. A master at reading pitcher's tendencies and timing their throws to plate, Lopeshas been instrumental in the success of Phils' base stealers since 2007. The Phils will now have to find someone equally as adept to replace him.

Davey Lopes was the man. It seemed like the Phillies were always stealing when they could and with great success and it was because of him. I'm sad to hear he's leaving but when you dont feel like doing it anymore I guess you dont have to do it.
