After hanging on to defeat the Capitals the Flyers took it up a notch tonight against the Senators. Just 2 minutes into the 1st period Andrej Meszaros and Sean O'donnell setup Danny Briere for a 1-0 lead. A couple minutes later Braydon Coburn and Andreas Nodl setup Mike Richards for a 2-0 lead. Late in the 2nd period Chris Pronger and Kimmo Timonen setup Richards again for a 3-0 lead. Just a few minutes after that though Ottawa had cut it to 3-2 heading into the 3rd period.
The Orange and Black really stepped it up after that though. Jeff Carter, Claude Giroux, O'donnell, Jody Shelley, and Scott Hartnell were all involved in fights in the 3rd period as the Flyers bashed Ottawa the rest of the way. 7 minutes into the 3rd Ville Leino and Briere setup Hartnell for a 4-2 lead. A few minutes later Richards and Pronger setup James Van Reimsdyk for a 5-2 lead. Finally a minute after that Giroux and Richards setup Meszaros on the power play to all but put away a 6-2 win.
