FLYERS NEWS
After three straight wins the Flyers took it on the chin tonight in New Jersey at the hands of Marty Brodeur and the Devils. For whatever reason the Flyers just can't seem to score on the guy, while the Devils have no problem scoring on Marty Biron. All I can say is where the hell is Simon Gagne when you need him. Anyway, the Devils got off to a quick start as Paul Martin and Travis Zajac each scored in the 1st period for a 2-0 Devils lead. Late in the 2nd period Patrick Elias made it 3-0 New Jersey. In 3rd period, with Brodeur forming a veritable wall in front of the New Jersey goal, there was no further scoring and the Devils closed out a 3-0 victory. So the Flyers drop to 19-15-4 overall and back into last place in the Atlantic Division, but don't worry they are only 7 points out of first and there is still plenty of season left.
