SIXERS NEWS
The Sixers just can't buy a win right now. Tonight in San Antonio they gave the Spurs everything could handle, but alas once again it wasn't enough. Offensively, only 3 Sixers scored in double figures (Willie Green, Andre Iguodala, Samuel Dalembert), with Green's 21 leading the way. Defensively, Samuel Dalembert ruled in the paint yet again, with 20 rebounds and 3 blocks, but on this defense fueled night the Spurs were just hair quicker, grabbing 50 rebounds and that was really the difference. Through the first quarter of play the Spurs held a slim 27-24 lead. By the half San Antonio had upped their lead to 5, with the score 52-46. By the end of the third quarter the Sixers had rallied ahead 65-64 and hoped reigned eternal for a Sixer's victory. Unfortunately, the 4th quarter belonged to San Antonio, as they pulled away before holding on for an 89-82 victory. So the Sixers drop to 14-24 overall, but remain in 4th place in the Atlantic division.
