SIXERS NEWS
It's over, it's finally over. The Sixer's seven game losing streak finally came to an end tonight in Houston against the Rockets and it wasn't easy as the Sixers needed a late rally to pull out the win. Offensively, six Sixers scored in double figures(Andre Iguodala, Andre Miller, Willie Green, Samuel Dalembert, Louis Williams, Thaddeus Young) with Miller's 26 leading the way. Defensively, it was a team effort and a bad one at that, as the Rockets out rebounded the Sixers 40-32 and shot nearly 50% from the field. Through the 1st quarter of play, it was tight as Houston clung to a one point lead, with the score 31-30. By the half the Rockets lead was up to 5 with the score 60-55. In the 3rd quarter Houston continued to increase its lead and road into the 4th quarter ahead 85-74. The Sixers 8th straight loss seemed at hand, but a furious 4th quarter rally ensued, as the Sixers outscored the Rockets 37-22 in the quarter. A Dalembert dunk put the Sixers ahead to stay with just over 2 minutes to play, and they held on to win 111-107. So the Sixers improve to 15-24 overall, but remain in 4th place in the Atlantic division.
