After a tough series with the Red Sox the Phils welcomed old nemesis Vladimir Guerrero and the Angels to the Bank for a 3 game weekend set. Adam Eaton got the start and was roughed up badly allowing 6 runs on 12 hits in just 5 innings of work. Meanwhile Ervin Santana dazzled the Phils bats allowing just 1 run on 2 hits in 7 innings of work while striking out 9. Now onto the game. In the top of the 1st Vlad slammed a 2 run homer for a 2-0 Angel's lead. In the top of the 2nd, Garret Anderson slapped an RBI single for a 3-0 lead. In the top of the 6th, Vlad singled, Casey Kotchman singled and Howie Kendrick doubled to knock in 3 runs for a 6-0 Angel's lead. In the bottom of the 6th, Jimmy Rollins reached base on a fielding error, stole second, moved to third on another error and scored on a sac fly by Chase Utley to cut the lead to 6-1. In the top of the 8th, Jeff Mathis doubled in a run for a 7-1 Angel's lead, providing the final margin of victory in an Angels' romp. So the Phils drop to 42-33 overall but remain 2.5 games up in the NL East.
