EAGLES NEWS

It's official the Donovan Mcnabb era is over in Philadelphia. The Eagles traded him today to the division rival Washington Redskins for the 37th pick(2nd round) of this month's draft. On the one hand the Eagles now 11 picks, 5 in the 1st 3 rounds, in what supposed to be a deep draft so they should be able to improve the team now with a good draft. Also Kevin Kolb will now get his chance to start for the Eagles. On the other hand they sent him to Washington so the Birds will have to play him twice this season, and Washington, already a good defensive team, could improve enough with Mcnabb to move past the Eagles in the NFC East and become a playoff team. Also I can't imagine Donovan in a Redskins jersey so that should be interesting to see. In the end it is hard to know at this point whether this was a good or bad trade. We'll just have to see how the draft goes and how Kolb fares next season.

Well as you know I'm not a huge fan of McNabb but its sad to see him go considering all he has done for the Eagles, especially to the Redskins. I guess that 37th pick wont hurt and as you said they have a pretty deep draft. Hopefully Kolb can take McNabbs place without a hitch.

yes I'll never understand why you're not a fan, but all we can now see what Kolb can do
