The Mike Vick Era in Philly continued for one more week and probably for several weeks after this as the Eagles welcomed the Jacksonville Jaguars to the Linc. Vick had another big day to lead the offense, completing 17 of his 31 passes for 291 yards and 3 TDs. He also rushed 4 times 30 yards and Lesean McCoy had more rushing yards with 11 carries for 54 yards. 5 of Vick's passes went to Desean Jackson for 143 yards and a TD and 4 went to Jeremy Maclin for 83 yards and 2 TDs. Defensively, Trent Cole led the way with 8 tackles and 2 sacks, while Trevor Laws had 6 tackles and a sack, Quintin Mikell had 6 tackles and Nate Allen 3 tackles and a sack. So it was a strong team effort for the Birds across the board against the lowly Jaguars.
Early a 81 yd TD pass from Vick to Jackson and a 16 yd TD pass from Vick to Maclin gave the Birds a 14-3 lead at the half. Late in the 3rd quarter Vick hooked up with Maclin again on a 45 yarder to make 21-3. Then on the ensuing drive Vick ran it in himself from 17 yards out to make it 28-3 Eagles. At that point the Eagles pulled back a bit and looked to run out the clock make stops on defense. They tried that last week after building a big lead over the Lions, and almost lost. This time with Stewart Bradley back in the lineup at MLB there were such issues as the defense closed out the 28-3 win. With everyone else in the NFC East, except the Cowboys who came into today winless, losing the Birds, at 2-1, now sit atop the NFC East all by their lonesome. It will be interesting to see how long they stay there.
