FLYERS NEWS

The Flyers finished their preseason today against the Sabres. With all of the regulars resting the Orange and Black really had no chance in this one. The guys who were out there on ice played poorly as the Sabres won going away 9-3. Johan Backlund got the start in goal, his first of the preseason after returning from a hip injury. Unfortunately for Johan, He had an abysmal allowed 7 goals before there were even 10 minutes gone in the 2nd period. He didn't get much help from his teammates, and some goals weren't really his fault, but to allow 7 goals was still a sub par outing for Backlund. So Brian Boucher and Sergei Bobrovsky will open the season the regular season as the Flyers goalie tandem. Outside of goalie issues, it still remains to be seen if 40 year old Bill Guerin did enough during the preseason to win a spot on the Flyer's roster. After missing 2 games with an injury and playing poorly tonight, things don't look good for Guerin.
