Coming into tonight the Sixers trailed the 5th spot in the Eastern conference by just 3.5 games. Win tonight against the slumping Hawks and they'd pull within 2.5 games. For a while it didn't look like that was going to happen. Atlanta was hot from everywhere and the Sixers didn't seem to have an answer for them. Still, as well as the Hawks played they couldn't pull away from the Sixers. The Sixers shot 48% from the field and an amazing 55% from beyond. Not surprisingly with that shooting they wound up with 7 guys in double figures. Lou Williams actually led the way with 17 off the bench, Andre Iguodala and Thad Young each had 16, Jodie Meeks went 5 of 6 from beyond and wound up with 15, Elton Brand had 13 and 11 rebounds, Jrue Holiday had 12 and 5 assists and finally Spencer Hawes had 10 to round out the scoring.
All that together was enough to keep the Sixers close for 3 quarters and then when they needed the most they were pick it up on D in the 4th. There they outscored Atlanta 31-20 as they rallied ahead with 10 minutes to play en route to a big 105-100 win.
