SIXERS NEWS

The Sixers had been playing pretty well during their current 6 game road trip, but tonight against the Lakers, in this, their 5th of the 6 games, they weren't so good. Offensively, 4 Sixers scored in double figures, but only one starter,(Louis Williams, Jason Smith, Thaddeus Young, Andre Iguodala) with sweet Lou's 17 off the bench leading the way. Defensively, the Sixers had a terrible night. Andrew Bynum dominated Samuel Dalembert with 16 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 17 points, as the Lakers out rebounded the Sixers 46-35. All told the Lakers shot 66.2 % from the field, and 57.1 % from beyond the arc. Simply put, the Sixers couldn't stop them all night and the Lakers knew it. Through the 1st quarter of play the Lakers were already ahead by 8, 34-26. By the half L.A led by 24, with the score 64-40. By the start of 4th quarter the lead was 28, with the score 96-68. In the 4th, using mostly reserves the Sixers actually, cut back into the Lakers lead a bit, but it was for naught, as L.A eventually ran away with a 31 point win, with the final score 124-93. pretty embarrassing to say the least. So the Sixers drop to 14-19 overall, but remain in 4th place in the Atlantic division.
