SIXERS NEWS
The Sixers got back on track tonight as they returned to the friendly confines of the Wachovia center for a key match up against the New Jersey Nets. Four Sixers scored in double figures(Andre Miller, Andre Iguodala, Samuel Dalembert, Louis Williams) with Iggy's 28 leading the way. Defensively, Sammy D led the way with 18 rebounds and 5 blocks as the Sixers out rebounded New Jersey 50-45, and held them to under 40% shooting from the field. Unfortunately, the Sixers also shot under 40% from the field, so it was a closer game than it needed to be. In the first quarter of play, the Sixers jumped out to an early 4 point lead, with the score 23-19. In the 2nd quarter of play, the Sixers extended their lead to 7, with the score 49-42 at the half. In the third quarter of play, the Nets turned the tables on the Sixers rallying back to take a 7 point lead, with the score 75-68 heading into the 4th quarter. Finally, in the 4th quarter of play, the Sixer's refocused and put together a late rally, eventually pulling out a thrilling victory by 4, with the final score 91-87. So the Sixers improve to 35-35 overall, and remain 3rd in the Atlantic division and 7th in the Eastern conference, now a half a game out of 6th and 1 game out of 5th.
