SIXERS NEWS

Things went from bad to worse for the Sixers tonight as they welcomed the Chicago Bulls to the Wachovia center. Offensively, they were just okay shooting 43% from the field and 38% from beyond the arc, while amassing 29 assists to just 15 turnovers, and accumulating just 27 points off the bench. Basically it was one of those offensive nights that is okay if you play solid D, unfortunately the Sixers played terrible D. Chicago shot over 50% from the field and beyond the arc, and still managed to out rebound the Sixers, 42-39, which is simply pitiful. The Sixers actually led by 15 at one point in the 2nd quarter, but their lazy defense couldn't hold it once the offense cooled off and by the half the lead was just 3, with the score 55-52. Chicago and rookie sensation Derrick Rose powered ahead by 17 by the 4th quarter with the score 83-66. Finally in the 4th quarter the Sixers mounted a comeback but it was too little too late, and Chicago eventually hung on by 11 with the final score 103-92, handing the Sixers their 3rd straight loss. So the Sixers drop to a miserable 7-10 overall and they have no one to blame but themselves. They better shape up before it's too late.
