SIXERS NEWS

After a hard fought overtime victory last night the Sixers returned to the Wachovia center tonight and got right back to business against the L.A Lakers. Offensively, the Sixers actually performed better tonight shooting 48% from the field and 33% from beyond arc, while dishing out 21 assists to just 12 turnovers. However, the defense fell asleep as Kobe took them to school with 32 points. Meanwhile the Lakers as a team shot a blistering 58% from the field and 46% from beyond the arc, never good a sign for the opposition. Still ,the Sixers fought to the bitter end in this one, but the Lakers simply had too much firepower. Early the Lakers lead by 6 with the score 31-25 after a quarter of play. By the half the lead was up to 10 with the score 61-51. Through 3 quarters of play the lead was up to 16 with the score 85-69. Finally in the 4th quarter the Sixers mounted a comeback but it was too little too late and eventually L.A held on to win by 12 with the final score 114-102. So the Sixers drop to 7-11 overall and back on the hot seat.

Well its tough to see a loss, especially after those numbers you threw at me, but I guess thats what happens when your D falls asleep with Kobe on the other team
