The Flyers welcomed the New York Islanders to the Wachovia center tonight as they looked to rebound from thursday's loss to the Ottawa Senators. Marty Biron got the start in goal and put forth a solid effort saving 38 of the 39 shots he faced. Meanwhile, the Flyers posted 3 quick goals late in the 3rd period to swiftly put away the Isles. Early in the first period Claude Giroux and Scott Hartnell each scored within seconds of one another for a quick 2-0 lead. Early in the 3rd period Andy Hilbert cut it to 2-1 for the Isles. Then with about 11 minutes to play, Matt Carle, Aaron Asham, and Simon Gagne all scored in just over minute for stunning 5-1 lead to the Isles away for good. So the Orange and Black move to 29-16-9 overall for 67 points and still 4th in the Eastern conference.

As you know, the only way to get into first is to win, so now all the Flyers need to keep doing is win...now lets just hope they can do it.
