In their third meeting of the season thus far after Boston blowouts, the Sixers hoped the third time would be the charm as they welcomed the currently Garnetless Celtics to the Wachovia center. The Sixers needed the win to avoid falling back under .500 yet again. Unfortunately despite doing everything in their power to take down the mighty Celtics the Sixers came up short. Andre Iguodala scored 22, Andre Miller dropped 21, Samuel Dalembert posted a season high 14, and even Reggie Evans got in the act with 8 points and 10 rebounds, but still it was not enough. The Sixer defense was about as tough as it has been all season and still Boston found a way to shoot over 50% from the field. The Sixers even took care of the ball for once, with just 5 turnovers, to 20 for the Celtics, and still Boston found a way to win. Early on it looked like more of the same, with Boston up by 12 heading into the 2nd quarter. The Sixers managed to hang with Boston for the rest of half and actually had the lead a couple of times, before Boston win back up by 1 at halftime with the score 50-49. Heading into the 4th quarter it was the Sixers who held the tedious one point lead with the score 70-69. Finally in the 4th quarter the Sixers led most of the way and were up by 3 with 43 seconds to play but Ray Allen was somehow left open for a three to tie the score at 97. With 7 seconds to play Iggy hit a seemingly game winning 17 footer for a 99-97 lead, but again Allen was somehow left open on the ensuing Boston possession and drilled another 3 with one second to play to produce yet another heartbreaking Sixer's loss this time 100-99. So once the again the Sixers fall under .500 at 23-24.

Well that sucks...another heartbreaker, espicially against a good team like that, but then again its good to see they can compete with the best.
