The Phils kept rolling tonight. Roy Halladay was not at his best tonight, allowing 4 homers. However, all of them were solo, and in 7 innings Halladay allowed only 3 other hits and struck out 6 to keep the Phils in it. The Phils bats took care of the rest. The Brew Crew got off the deck first with solo homers by Prince Fielder, and Alcides Escobar in the top of the 2nd. In the home half of the second Ryan Howard and Jayson Werth bashed back to back solo shots to tie it up at 2. In the top of the 3rd Corey Hart entered the homer party with another solo shot to lead off the 3rd. The Phils came right back again in the home half of the 3rd with Chase Utley ripping a 1 out RBI single to tie it at 3.
With 2 outs and nobody on in the top of the 7th, Corey Hart spoiled Halladay's exit from the game with another solo shot for a 4-3 lead. Fortunately Halladay did the next batter, Ryan Braun to ground out to end the inning, setting the stage for a dramatic home half of the 7th. There back to back singles by Shane Victorino and Carlos Ruiz, and a pinch walk if you will, by Wilson Valdez, loaded the bases with the nobody out for Jimmy Rollins. Rollins picked the wrong pitch to swing at and grounded into a fielder's choice. The Next batter Placido Polanco lofted a fly ball to right center, which probably shouldn't have been enough to score Ruiz from 3rd but Ryan Braun's throw home was off the mark and Ruiz scored easily as the ball went to the back stop.
Rookie pitcher, Zach Braddock failed to properly cover behind home plate and So Wilson Valdez was able to sneak home and score the go head run for a 5-4 Phils lead. From there J.C Romero combined for a scoreless 8th and Brad Lidge wrapped up his 20th save of the season with a 1-2-3 inning. Unfortunately the Braves both won again today as well so the Phils remain 1 game back in the NL East and 3 games up in the NL Wild Card race. Not a bad place to be

Its just a matter of time before the Phillies knock the Braves out of the lead. They're just delaying the inevitable at this point. Lets go Phils!
