On a wet, sloppy night in Washington Roy Halladay was simply untouchable. He allowed just 2 hits while striking out 6 en route to a complete game victory. The aggressive National's batters were just no match for Roy on this night and it almost seemed too easy at times. Anyway, the funny thing is Roy actually didn't need to be that good, as the Phils bats finally came back to life, racking up 8 runs on 12 hits, many of which were helped by the poor conditions and the Nationals own lack of interest in the outcome of the game.
First Jayson Werth slammed a solo homer in the 2nd inning. Later, he doubled in the 3rd inning for 2 more runs and then scored on another by Carlos Ruiz. Finally, in the 9th inning,Chase Utley clubbed another double for 2 more runs before coming around to score on a single by Werth. So just like that the Phils had 8 runs and an 8 -0 lead. Halladay took it from there retiring the Nats in order in the home of the 9th to clinch the Phils 4th straight division title, the top record in the NL, and likely the NL CY Young for Halladay. Go Phils!

WOOT WOOT! I knew it was going to happen but its still great knowing that the Phils are going to have homefield advantage throughout the playoffs. Halladay is the man and should win the Cy Young and the offense is still working on all cylinders things are looking good.
