First of all the team that reached the finals in 2001 was just one of those teams built with veterans on their last legs determined for just one year to make a run at a championship, kinda of like the 1993 Phillies. Of the the startng 5 from that team only one is still with the sixers(Allen Iverson) in other words that team just wasn't built for the long hall. All of the teams built around Iverson since then, simply haven't been as cohesive as the 2001 unit was. As for the sixers chances this season, it all depends on how good their draft is, and what changes they make to their roster. If they have a good draft and make the necessary changes they will have a chance to win the division. However if they are going to win the division they have to get out of the gate quickly because if you think about it the main road-block to them winning the division is the New Jersey Nets who are notorious for tanking early season games. If sixers are able to get off to a hot start and put enough distance between them and Nets early they may have chance to win the division, otherwise they will be where they always are, struggling for the last playoff spot.
