FLYERS NEWS
Coming into tonight with two nail biting, clutch wins in a row, the Flyers got an easy one against the lowly New York Islanders. Marty Biron got the start in goal again and had a dazzling night, saving 32 of the 33 shots he faced, to spirit the Orange and Black to victory. Late in the first period of play Vinny Prospal scored on the power play for a 1-0 Flyer's lead. Late in the 2nd period of play Braydon Coburn scored yet another power play goal, for a 2-0 Flyer's lead. Early in the 3rd period of play, Danny Briere scored yet another power play goal for a 3-0 Flyer's lead. A couple minutes later Scott Hartnell capped off the Flyers scoring for a 4-0 lead. Finally with just under 5 minutes to play Miroslav Satan scored on the Islander's power play, to avoid the shutout, but it was of little consequence as the Flyers sprinted to the 4-1 victory. So the Flyer's improve to 38-28-10 overall, and jump back up to 7th in the Eastern conference, now 2 points clear of 8th place Boston, 4 points clear of 9th place Washington, and 5 points clear of 10th place Buffalo. In other words, the chances of the Flyers reaching the playoffs are now significantly better with only 6 games left to play in the regular season.

All that the Flyers need to do now is win every game, which is much harder done than said

yeah, but actually at this point they just about split their remaining games and still sneak them, if the other teams continue to play poorly
