SIXERS NEWS

After four straight wins coming into tonight, the streaking Sixers were derailed tonight in a big way as they traveled to Orlando to face Dwight "superman" Howard and the Magic. On the night only 4 four Sixers scored in double figures(Andre Iguodala, Thaddeus Young, Rodney Carney, Louis Williams) with sweet Lou's 18 off the bench leading the way. Defensively, it was not a good night for the Sixers, as they allowed Orlando to shoot over 50% from the field and over 60% from beyond the arc, and got out rebounded 44-38. From the get go, it was clear this would not be the Sixers night. In the first period of play, the Magic quickly jumped out to a 14 point lead, with the score 33-19. Things only got worse for the Sixers in the 2nd quarter of play, as the Magic extended their lead, to 23, with the score 58-35 at the half. In the 3rd quarter of play, the Magic continued to extend their lead and by the 4th quarter it was up to 28, with score 88-60. Finally, in the 4th quarter the Sixers cut into the Orlando lead a bit, but it was too little too late, as the Sixers fell by 18, with the final score 113-95. So the Sixers drop to 34-35 overall, but remain 3rd in the Atlantic division and 7th in the Eastern conference, now a game out of 6th and a game and a half out of 5th.

Well 7th isnt too bad compared to not being in the playoffs, like the Flyers might be. But then again the Sixers could get that 6th spot if they keep up the 4 game winning streaks then losing only 1
