The Phils continued their 4 game set with the Reds today. The normally unreliable, turned reliable, Adam Eaton got the start tonight and turned in his best outing of the season thus far, allowing just 1 run on 3 hits in 6 and 2/3rd's innings of work, perfect on a night when the Phils could only muster 3 runs. Now onto the game. In the top of the 3rd, Edwin Encarnacion slammed a solo homer for a 1-0 Reds' lead. In the bottom of the 3rd, Jimmy Rollins reached base on a fielder's choice, stole second and scored on a single by Chase Utley to knot it at 1. In the bottom of the 6th, Pat "The Bat" Burrell crushed a 2 run homer for a 3-1 Phils' lead. In the top of the 8th, Encarnacion tripled and scored on a sac fly by Javier Valentin to cut the lead to 3-2. Finally in the top of the 9th, Brad Lidge close it out again after allowing a couple baserunners, to finish off a 3-2 Phils win. So the Phils improve to 35-25 overall, and now lead the NL East by 2.5 games. Let the good times roll!
