The Phils continued their series with the Nationals tonight. Brett Myers got the start and tossed a complete game gem, allowing 0 runs on 9 hits. Meanwhile, the Phils bat's got off to another slow start, so they needed every one of those innings from the resurgent Myers. Now onto the game. In the bottom of 3rd, Chris Coste was hit by a pitch and scored on a pair of fielder's choices and an error for a 1-0 Phil's lead. In the bottom of the 5th, Greg Dobbs slammed a 2 run homer, and Jayson Werth doubled in another run a few batters later for a 4-0 lead. That would be all Myers would need as he tossed the complete game shutout, retiring the Nats, relatively uneventfully to close out the 4-0 win. So the Phils move to 68-58 overall, but remain 1.5 games behind the Mets in the NL East.

The Phils finally string a couple wins together but they still remain 1.5 games back from the Mets so now I'm going to rephrase what I said yesterday...The Phils just need to keep winning games and the Mets need to start losing
