The Phils looked to finish off another series win this afternoon with Roy Oswalt on the mound in the L.A. Oswalt was great again taking a no hitter into the 6th inning. In all he tossed 6 and 1/3rd scoreless innings, but he walked a career high 6 and thus could go no further than those 6 and 1/3rd innings. Thankfully by then the Phils had spotted him a 3-0 lead. Jimmy Rollins leadoff the 1st with a solo homer. Shane Victorino then slammed another solo homer to leadoff the 2nd inning. Later in the 7th Chase Utley ripped an RBI double and with that Roy was well on his way to another win.
From there J.C Romero finished off the 7th and Ryan Madson got through a shaky 8th inning, while allowing a run. Next in the 9th a pinch double by Dominic Brown and another double by Utley produced a couple insurance runs and a 5-1 lead. Brad Lidge had little trouble protecting that lead in the home half of the 9th and the Phils had their 5th win in their last 6. Unfortunately everyone else won again as well so the Phils remain 3 back in the NL East and 2 games up in the wild card race.

I still dont get how the Phillies lost to the Astros and then beat the Padres and Dodgers, granted the Dodgers arent what they used to be. Hopefully the Phillies can keep this up to at least stay in the wildcard playoff position.
