The Phils traded minor league lefty reliever Sergio Escalona to Astros today for minor league 2nd baseman Albert Cartwright. Escalona was never that great a prospect and couldn't seem to stay healthy so this isn't a surprise. Also the Phils now have J.C Romero back and clearly have some confidence in Antonio Bastardo, so they didn't really need Escalona anymore anyway. As for Cartwright, he's a decent prospect and could be perhaps a solid utility man in time or who knows maybe he'll be a diamond in the rough.
