After falling out of the 8th spot in the Eastern conference with their loss to the Pacers, the Sixers had to have a win tonight against the Milwaukee Bucks, to keep from falling even further down the standings. Fortunately, Andre Iguodala returned to form with 15, 7 assists, 6 rebounds, and flawless defense late in the contest to help the Sixers cause greatly. It wasn't all Iggy though. On the whole the Sixers shot 57% from the field and 50% from beyond on another superb shooting night. Aside from Iggy Elton Brand had 15, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists, Jrue Holiday had 10, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists, and Lou Williams had 25 big points including the winning trey. Defensively the Sixers were also much better than they had been lately holding Milwaukee to only 47% from the floor and 35% from beyond.
The Sixers started fast and rode some hot shooting to a 5 point lead after a quarter of play. The hot shooting continued in the 2nd quarter as the lead increased to 6 by the half. The Sixers had it up to double digits at one point in the 3rd quarter before Milwaukee fought back to within 5 heading into the 4th quarter. Milwaukee kept fighting back in the 4th but somehow the Sixers held them off until Corey Maggette hit a runner with 2 minutes left to put the Bucks up 94-92. With 44 seconds left Lou Williams drilled a trey to put the Sixers back up 95-94. After that Maggette had the ball with a chance to put the Bucks up again but Iggy blocked his shot with 5 seconds left. Then Earl Boykins missed a prayer at the buzzer and the Sixers had held on for their first win by 4 points or less, 95-94.
