SIXERS NEWS
Well it had to end sometime didn't it. After three abysmal games, the Sixers losing streak mercifully ended tonight at home against the equally attrocious New York Knicks. Offensively, 5 Sixers scored in double figures(Willie Green, Andre Iguodala, Reggie Evans, Samuel Dalembert, Louis Williams) with Samuel Dalembert's 20 leading the way. Additionally, Andre Miller reached double figures in assists with 11, which seems to be a key stat this season, as the Sixers oddly play better when their point guard gets them involved. What a concept. Anyway, on the defensive side of the ball Samuel Dalembert was once again a standout with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks, but this time he had some company, as Reggie Evans pulled down 12 rebounds, and even Andre Miller managed to pull down 7 rebounds, meaning he nearly had a triple double. Hmmm, why doesn't he play like that every night. As for the game, well it was almost all Sixers. Through one period the Knicks actually led by 1, 27-26. The Sixers forged ahead in the 2nd period, and took a 4 point, 53-49 halftime lead, which they would never relinquish. Through three quarters ,the lead was up 72-67. Finally in the 4th quarter the Sixers pulled away and won easily 101-90. So the Sixers improve to 6-13, but remain in last place in the Atlantic division .5 games behind the Knicks.
