SIXERS NEWS
After their short stay at the Wachovia center, the Sixers went back on the road today as they traveled to Toronto to visit Chris Bosh and the Raptors. Despite another gritty effort and yet another late surge, they fell short for their 5th straight loss. Offensively, five Sixers scored in double figures(Andre Miller, Willie Green, Andre Iguodala, Thaddeus Young, Louis Williams) with Green's 18 leading the way. Defensively, it was a team effort as the Sixers out rebounded Toronto 41-34. Unfortunately, with 55% shooting from the field, and 42.9 % shooting from beyond the arc, there weren't many rebounds for the Raptors to pull in. Through the 1st quarter of play, it was a tight contest with the scored tied at 25. By the half, it was still a tight contest with the Raptors leading by two, 52-50. The 3rd quarter was the difference as Toronto outscored the Sixers 27-16, to take a 13 point, 79-66 lead. In the 4th quarter, the two teams mostly traded baskets and the Raptors won fairly easily 109-96. So the Sixers drop to 14-22 overall, but remain in 4th place in the Atlantic division.
