SIXERS NEWS
The Sixers began a key road trip today in Golden State against Baron Davis and the run and gun Warriors. Although the Sixers had been running and gunning pretty well themselves, they were no match for the seasoned artistry of Warriors' run and gun. Offensively, five Sixers scored in double figures (Andre Iguodala, Willie Green, Andre Miller, Rodney Carney, Louis Williams) with Miller and Carney's 18 a piece leading the way. Defensively, Sameul Dalembert led the way with 10 rebounds and a block, as the Sixers out rebounded the Warriors 50-45. Unfortunately, outside of that the Sixers didn't so well defensively, as the Warriors were able to get into a prime shooting rythm, hitting 51.1% of their shots from the field including 11 three pointers. The Sixers on the other hand shot just 40 % from the field and hit just three threes and that just won't get it done against three-point happy Golden State. In the first quarter of play, the Warriors jumped out to an eight point lead, with the score 26-18. From there they never looked back. By the half they led by 15 with the score 67-52. By the end of the 3rd quarter their lead was up to 17, with the score 90-73. Finally, in the 4th quarter of play Golden State just kept hitting threes and ran the final tally up to an easy 22 point win, with the final score 119-97. So the Sixers drop to 26-33 overall and back into 4th in the Atlantic division and 8th in the Eastern conference.
