FLYERS NEWS

Sergei Bobrovsky got his first start in goal in a while and was brilliant stopping 38 of the 40 shots he faced and held the Buffalo Sabres scoreless on 2 power plays. Meanwhile all star snub Danny Briere led an offensive barage with a goal and 3 assists. Scott Hartnell also had 2 goals and an assist and Kimmo Timonen had 2 assists as well. So all in all, though not their best, it was a solid team effort all around by the Orange and Black.

Early on Buffalo actually led 2-0 before Briere and Timonen teamed up to setup Hartnell on the power play to cut it to 2-1. Late in the 2nd period Timonen assisted Briere to knot it up at 2. The 3rd period then belonged to the Flyers. First Briere and Hartnell setup Ville Leino to make it 3-2. Mike Richards followed with an unassisted tally to make it to 4-2. Finally Briere setup Hartnell for an empty netter to cap off a 5-2 win.

Good to hear the Flyers are back into their winning ways and that Bobrovsky is looking solid.
