SIXERS NEWS
The rough days continued for the Sixers tonight, as they returned home to the Wachovia center to face the Atlanta Hawks tonight. Coming into tonight's game the Sixers had won 7 straight games at home against the Hawks, and that streak only figured to continue. Unfortunately it didn't. Offensively, 4 Sixers scored in double figures(Andre Miller, Willie Green, Andre Iguodala, Kyle Korver) with Willie Green's 23 leading the way. Defensively, Samuel Dalembert had another fruitful night with 10 rebounds and 2 blocks, and Reggie Evans chipped in with 10 blocks as well, as the Sixers outrebounded Atlanta 44-41. Unfortunately, the Sixers also turned to ball over 5 more times than the Hawks(17-12), with 12 fewer assists than the Hawks(26-14). Thus Assist -turnover ratio was the big factor tonight. Early on the Hawsks lead 24-17 after the 1st quarter. The Sixers rallied back in the 2nd quarter to take a one point 46-45 lead at the half. In the 3rd quarter Atlanta began to pull away, taking a 4 point ,66-62, lead through 3 quarters. Atlanta then put it away in the 4th quarter, running to a 9 point , 88-79 win, as the Sixers shooting cooled down. So the Sixers drop to 5-12 overall, and remain in last place in the Atlantic division.
