Joe Blanton looked to be complete control through 4 innings as he struck out 6 and allowed just 2 runs. Then in the 5th inning the wheels came loose as the Mets exploded for 5 runs on 6 hits. Prior to that and the Mets 2 run 4th, the Phils actually had a 7-0 lead. Shane Victorino tripled and scored and Ryan Howard doubled and scored in the 1st inning. Mike Pelphrey through the ball away on a sacrifice bunt by Blanton and Placido Polanco singled in a 3rd run in the 2nd inning. Finally in the 3rd inning Howard slugged a solo homer, Blanton of all people, rapped a bases loaded single to score 2 more and Polanco followed with another single to make it 7-0. Everyone at the Bank probably though it was over at that point only to be stunned by a Met comeback, but no matter the Phils recovered from their collapse quickly, as Polanco slapped another RBI single, and then scored on an infield single by Howard for 2 more runs in the 5th. Later in the 6th, Ben Francisco crushed a solo homer and the Phils bullpen closed things out from there in a 10-7 victory.
