SIXERS NEWS

With the Eastern conference's 6th seed likely on the line the Sixers hosted the New York Knicks at the Wells Fargo center. This was essentially the reverse of their last game, as they played a horrible first half, before a furious 2nd half rally. Elton Brand's 24 and 9 rebounds, and Thad Young's 25 and 7 rebounds keyed the rally. Andre Iguodala's 15, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds, and Jrue Holiday's 11, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds were also huge. Unfortunately with Lou Williams out and Jodie Meeks off his game at 0 for 8 from beyond on the night, the Sixers couldn't hit threes and it cost them late. A Meeks layup completed the rally and gave the Sixers an 88-87 lead with 1:58 left in the 4th. However, Meeks missed a trey after while and Tony Douglas and Carmelo Anthony hit one and the Knicks hung on to win 97-92. The Knicks are 6th in the East by a half game over the Sixers.
