SIXERS NEWS

The Sixers finally ended their 3 game skid tonight as the last place Raptors visited the Wells Fargo center. It wasn't pretty though. Despite having starting center Andrea Bargnani and starting point guard Jose Calderon both inactive the Raptors were still able to give the Sixers all they could handle. In fact without their top center, they actually out rebounded the Sixers 41-30. Other than that the Sixers were fine defensively, forcing 18 turnovers, and racking up 9 steals and 5 blocks, but they stunk it up a bit offensively shooting just 27% from beyond. As a result Toronto stayed almost neck and neck with them until the closing seconds of the game. In the end though, 22 and 8 rebounds from Elton Brand, 20 from Thad Young, 16 from Andre Iguodala, 13 and 11 assists from Jrue Holiday, and 10 from Jodie Meeks and Evan Turner were enough to hold off Toronto. After Jerryd Bayless missed a trey with 4 seconds left, Holiday drained a couple free throws to close out the 98-93 Sixer victory.
